As an accountant, you might be wondering how to let go of stand-alone 1040’s and find more target client opportunities.

 

Well, one strategy you can use is to expand your luck surface area.

 

Now, what does that even mean? It's actually pretty simple.

Expanding your luck surface area just means doing passionate work for the right clients (like Advisory services), making an impact, and then telling the right people about it (your ecosystem).

Unfortunately, most accountants aren't great at expanding their luck surface area. But remember, if you don't toot your own horn, there won't be any music. In other words, you need to promote yourself and your work to the right people to get noticed.

To put it in equation form: Expanding Luck = Passionate Doing for the Right Clients X Impact X Telling the Right People. By doing this, you increase your chances of getting lucky (i.e. finding predictable target client opportunities).
