Let's face it, we all have those tasks that linger in theback of our minds and gnaw at us until we finally get them done.

These tasks can range from personal errands to workassignments, and they can be easily pushed aside by urgent but ultimately unimportanttasks that seem to demand our attention.

For example, let's say you have two taxreturns that you need to complete.

You know that these returns are importantand need to be done, but they keep getting put off because urgent butunimportant emails and notifications keep stealing your attention throughoutthe day.

Before you know it, the day is over, andyou haven't even started on those tax returns. You go home feeling frustratedand unfulfilled, knowing that you didn't accomplish what you set out to do.

This is a common experience that we've allhad at some point in our lives.

However, there is another way to approachthese types of tasks.

Instead of letting urgent but unimportanttasks rule the day, you can prioritize the important and urgent tasks first, and then address the other tasks later.

Focus on completing the tax returns firstthing in the morning when you have the most energy and focus. You can then moveon to the other tasks, such as checking email and attending to other urgent butless important matters.

By prioritizing the important and urgenttasks, you can ensure that you accomplish what you need to do and feel a senseof accomplishment at the end of the day. This is what it means to "win theday."

This concept can be applied to all areas oflife, whether it's personal or professional. By focusing on the tasks thattruly matter, you can achieve your goals and feel more fulfilled in theprocess.

It's important to remind yourself and yourteam of the value of prioritizing Quadrant 1/2 tasks. This can help you stayfocused and motivated, even when distractions and urgent matters threaten toderail your plans.
